NUMBER OF COATS
Two coats on raw wood; for renovations, normally one coat on the clean surface is sufficient – without sanding!
Finished surface in 2 days, 2 coats
- First coat on the raw, sanded wood approx. 35-45 ml/m² (clear) or approx. 30-40 ml/m² (coloured).
- Mistakes in the wet coating can be corrected up to 30 minutes after the first application.
- Drying time approx. 8-10 hours (clear) or approx. 24 hours (coloured) (normal climatic conditions, 23 °C/50 % rel. humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity can increase drying time. Allow for good ventilation.
- If desired, the dried finish can be smoothened with fine grain sandpaper (P400).
- Top coat approx. 35-45 ml/m² with a clear Polyx®-Oil (except for 3040 and 3041/ 3044).
- For drying times, see point 3.
For floors with a white base coat, a top coat with either Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original 3040 White or 3041/ 3044 Natural/ Raw is recommended.
